"The Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon series lends itself perfectly to be adapted to a video game, and we are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to produce it," said Jason Falcus, operations director at Atomic Planet. Every time players successfully locate a talisman, Jackie will gain additional powers and will be able to access previously hidden locations. As they progress through the game, players will have to do battle with a number of different enemies, including ancient Chinese demons and a group of ninjas known as the Dark Hand. In Jackie Chan Adventures, players will assume the titular role of Jackie as he and his 11-year-old niece, Jade, travel the globe looking for ancient talismans. Currently in development at Atomic Planet Entertainment (APE), the cel-shaded action game is based on the cartoon show of the same name and is not to be confused with Encore Software's Jackie Chan Adventures title, which was announced back in 2001 and canceled some time ago. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced that it will release Jackie Chan Adventures for the PlayStation 2 in Europe in September.
